Getting the most from TilerSpace
I'm sure you've heard the expression 'World Wide Web'. TilerSpace helps create those web-like connections between you, your business and other tradesmen and tiling related products.
It would be fair to say that the members with the most connections and the ones that generate the most content (photos, videos, blogs) get the most exposure. For example, if a potential customer or Google drops into my page, it also finds all the members linked to my profile, all the photos and all the groups; so the more connections the better.
Every time you upload a photo, blog post, video or leave a comment for someone you generate content that links back to your business details, and the website will tell 100's of other sites that you've created new content, so in turn generating additional exposure for you.
In someways you could see your profile (business details) as a forum thread. If you just enter details in and leave it and never update it or add new content. That thread will drop further down the list of topics and others will be more active. So it pays to add new stuff to your page.
Top Tips for increasing exposure
You can invite new members with 'Invite' button in the menu bar. So if there's a local plumber you want to link to, find their email address and use the invite feature.
Use 'My Page' from here you can upload more photos of your work, videos, and write about your business, what makes you the best tiler in your area etc - You can upload a business logo or photo, something for people to recognise.
Use the 'badges' that you see in the right hand side border. Click on 'get code' and paste that into other websites, there by increasing the links to your page; more exposure.
Leave comments on other peoples profiles; they all link back to your page. But please be constructive and professional, not like the muppet I had the other morning.
Create events that you know about, or think other should know about.
Create or join groups, they're just extra ways to get connections.
