I had the opportunity the other day to install some leveler in a small bath over concrete. The floor was ' out ' more than 3/4", yet the room was fairly small, and with our busy schedule we wanted the job to complete on time, so for the first time I used Mapei UltraPlan1 Plus with HCT technology.
I primed the floor with their reccomended primer ( dried fast over the existing PlaniPatch ) got my buckets, measured my water, mixed for the reccomended 2 minutes, poured, mushed it around a small amount, then I went for my second bucket. Now I already had a second pail cleaned, and ready with measured water in, just had to mix. Mixed for 2 minutes again, and poured. The material I already poured was still quite wet, and I was able to get an unremarkable seam from first bucket to second. I had a little more spreading, but honestly not a lot.
I went home for lunch and returned 2 1/2 hours later to find an almost completely dry, flat surface. By the time I set up some cutting equipment, got my hand tools out and mixed my thin-set, the little floor was ready to go.
To me, that is AMAZING ! The 2 bags were mixed with 12 US Qts ( 11.36L ) of water, and completely dried in like 3 hours, ready for tile. READY FOR TILE !
To top it off, the bags actually cost me less than what I was paying for another brands ' contractor ' grade leveller.
2 thumbs up from BC Tile !!
