What DRY tile cutter do you use? At present I've got three, but use only two.

Rubi TS50 Plus (Doesn't get used, I find the fixed breaker too limiting)

Sigma Technica 36cm - Absolutely great little machine, nicely designed, light and cuts ceramics and porcelain easily.

Tomecanic Supercoup 75cm - A beast of a machine, massive amount of breaking power, twin breakers.

Wouldn't mind a Sigma Diagonale to try, Sigma are you listening??

So what do you guys use and what do you think of them?

I don't charge any more for porcelain, with the cutters I just it's just a glorified ceramic tile. I'd go for a pull-action sigma or a tomecanic supercoup, the coup can take a little while to get the knack of but it's pretty mean.

thanks.. not looked at it does that have the breakers at the end like the ts50 or moveable pivot? For diamonds I just think the breaker on the Ts is useless..

Just got a tx 900n delivered today...had to replace the front door as its so friggin big it wouldnt fit in!...

Anyway been banging out a few test cuts with it and it feels great...Porcelain tiles I was cutting last week for a porch on my ts50 (oh dear) its managing very nicely and I got it down to about a 3 cm cut although Im hoping that I never have to do it if I lay out correctly!. Ceramic floor tiles its easy.. I have to say though that the rubi wheels dont seem to make a nice cut, I put a brand new one in and it always feels blunt. Also the breaking legs dont seem to rest flat against the tile, rather on the their edge..

but apart from that it seems a fantastic peice of kit...

of course now Im all set with a huge monster floor cutter I get a job with 4 inch square ceramic wall tiles....might just use it anyway!

Never used the Tx range but they've always looked the biz. I often find a smaller wheel makes for a neater cut especially on textured stuff. My little Sigma cuts beautifully :)

My everyday drycutter id a Rubi ts60+ and i think its a great all rounder...i know what you mean about the breaker, does not allways break straight on large format tiles.....i get around this by just scribing and breaking it off old fashion style with a small rip under the scoreline and snap with my foot!!!!!!

Hi Dave,

thinking very much of purchasing the tomechanic.

Q 1. what tile size will it cut up to?
Q 2. how old is the machine and the wheel cutter?
